I went with my mom to her dr. appointment this morning. They still don't know what the mass in her neck is. The pathology report was inconclusive on whether is was cancer or not. That really sucks, because all it did was make me more worried. But next Friday she is going to have the surgery to have it removed. And it's a pretty big surgery and a lot of complications can occur from it. And every time that we see this dr. he has another complication that he feels the need to tell us about. Guh, it's nerve wracking. But I'm going to not worry until it's time to.
I need to go study. Stupid psych check offs are Thursday and Friday, and test Monday and the state test Tuesday...I'm really nervous about the state testing. I kept saying that I wasn't but I am now. It's really starting to freak me out. |

I'm pretty excited about going to class. We never do anything that is fun for a learning experience. I guess clinicals could be considered fun for some but there is always work involved. But tonight we are supposed to watch a good movie about psych patients. I have a feeling it's either Sybil or Girl Interrupted. It might be Primal fear but I'm thinking its one of those two. And really I'm ok with those movie, I like them both. And to know that two test questions will be from it makes me so very very happy!!! They will be easy to get.
I didn't go to bed for 29hrs and I got 4hrs of sleep. I'm feeling okay right now but I hope someone else drives because I'm afraid that I will get sleepy tonight and shouldn't drive. But maybe I should cause everyone drives way too slow.
Okay off to shower so that I can be more awake. I need a new mood theme. And I really want to make my own on all the movies and bands that I like. I'm just lazy and don't want to take the time to do it. |

I don't know about the rest of you but I am really disturbed by the Polygamist Cult in Texas. I first heard about it Thursday while on the behavioral floor during clinical's. One of my patients was obsessed with it and when I turned and started watching the TV in the common room I was blown away. It was a topic of choice. They had been following the case since it happened, and had to get approval to keep the channel on CNN because the Dr. felt it was damaging to the group.
I read this article this morning and thought it was interesting... More than 400 children taken from a polygamous sect's ranch will undergo DNA testing this week, an attempt to determine who their parents are and if any sexual abuse took place......
Officials say family relationships in the sect can be confusing to outsiders because the children of more than one wife live in the same household.
The children identify all the women in the house as their mothers, and if a father leaves the community, children and mothers are reassigned to another man, a child welfare investigator testified during a hearing last week.......
The custody case is one of the nation's largest and most complicated. The ruling Friday capped two days of testimony that sometimes became disorderly as hundreds of lawyers for children and parents competed to defend their clients in two rooms linked by a video feed.
The children, including 130 children younger than 4 years and two dozen adolescent boys, will receive individual hearings before June 5.
Law enforcement officers raided the Yearning For Zion Ranch on April 3. The raid was prompted by calls made to a family violence shelter, purportedly by a 16-year-old girl who said her 50-year-old husband beat and raped her. That girl has never been identified.
And this morning on the today show, they were interviewing a man from Texas that is watching/helping to take care of the children and he said that the children were doing good and they were trying to keep them busy with games that they had never played before. And that they are moving them into group foster homes, where some of the older boys have already been placed. They are going to try to put them in places where they won't be separated not to upset the children any more than what they have already done.
I don't know if I agree with that. I think that these children are going to need emotional support after what they have went through and are going to go through. I think it will be hard to give them that at a group place. I understand what the courts are going through and confused as to what to do. There hasn't been anything like this before and do not know exactly what is the best for the children.
Topic #2
A 5.2-magnitude earthquake that appeared to rival the strongest recorded in the region rocked people up to 450 miles away early today, surprising residents unaccustomed to such a powerful Midwest temblor.
Also this week, early Friday morning, at around 5:36 am the earthquake in Illinois (5.2) traveled down the fault line and stopped in my area (2.0). I couldn't believe it when I heard that. Nor could some of my friends when I called and asked them if they had felt the earthquake as well. Most of them hadn't even heard about it or knew that we lived on a fault line.
I've known for years that KY is on a dormant fault line but well it's dormant. We've had tremors once when I was like six or something like that but that's it. So this is a pretty big deal to us since, we never have anything like this happen.
So now to my funny story...I live really close to the train tracks, on both sides of the OH river. The river is behind me were the N&O trains run (WV side), and one st. in front of me where the CSX trains run (KY side). So Emma had spring pictures friday, and I had set my clock at 3:30am for 6:20 am so we could have time to do her hair and when the earthquake happened I thought it was one of those times when the trains were running both in front and behind me and which caused the house to shake some. And I rolled over and went back to sleep. XD And then at 7:20am I woke up late because my alarm clock had shook off of my computer desk and didn't go off. I didn't know it was because of an earthquake, I was ranting all day about trains because I thought it was because of them. When I told my parents later that night, they didn't believe me and I was like are you serious...so I had to prove it to them that it was a real earthquake.
A lady in my clinical group actually got out of bed and checked the front door because it sounded like someone was beating her door in. Even her husband and two grandkids that she is raising got up because they heard it.
It's just strange for us. I guess if you live somewhere where it happens it's not that big of a deal but where I've never had to deal with an earthquake I find it to be a huge deal. I'm not scared or anything, actually I find it funny but if it had been a huge earthquake I wouldn't be finding it funny.
Okay enough of the pointless ramble. I've gotta go study some. I have check offs this Thursday and Friday and need to write a script for one of them. Blah...it's a never ending battle. But good news is, my final is May 6th and I only have 7 or 8 more days of class left. Three of which is tests that I have to pass. So I won't be updating much unless I get really stressed out.

You did so well you might actually be in 5th grade right now! Or are you a 5th grade teacher? Either way, you've definitely got what it takes to make the grade in the classroom — and beyond! Book smart and motivated, you're probably the type to make sure you're always on time for class or work (or even that hot date!), and can't wait to read the new book that everyone's been talking about. That's not to say you're a brown-noser. Not even close. You just love to know stuff — whether it's relevant or not. Who cares if you'll never have to know that a dolphin sleeps with one eye open or that a sneeze can travel at over 100 miles per hour. So if you don't mind, can we copy your test answers from now on?

I was so excited yesterday. My brother and sister in law kept telling me that they had me the best gift for my bday. I thought that it was a game for the WII but boy was I wrong! They got me a 19in. LCD monitor. THE BEST BDAY GIFT EVER! That was so sweet of them and way too expensive for them to buy me. He kept telling me that I needed to buy one but I was like my monitor is fine so I hate to spend so much on one, when my is well fine. SO HE DID! I love my family.
Okay off to Britany's. Study time. |

You are The Moon
Hope, expectation, Bright promises.
The Moon is a card of magic and mystery - when prominent you know that nothing is as it seems, particularly when it concerns relationships. All logic is thrown out the window.
The Moon is all about visions and illusions, madness, genius and poetry. This is a card that has to do with sleep, and so with both dreams and nightmares. It is a scary card in that it warns that there might be hidden enemies, tricks and falsehoods. But it should also be remembered that this is a card of great creativity, of powerful magic, primal feelings and intuition. You may be going through a time of emotional and mental trial; if you have any past mental problems, you must be vigilant in taking your medication but avoid drugs or alcohol, as abuse of either will cause them irreparable damage. This time however, can also result in great creativity, psychic powers, visions and insight. You can and should trust your intuition.
What Tarot Card are You? Take the Test to Find Out. |

I'm so pissed off. I just had a knock on my front door...at 12:30am by the cops! They caught this bitch stealing from my car!!! They were like can you name some of the cd's you have. I immediately go to Panic, NIN, THE KILLERS! And countless more. I told them I had a stack a mile high, and he was like you said the killer's that good enough. She would have made off with a fortune cause I have a lot of tools and money in there.
She got in both the truck and the car. I'm so pissed off. She even left the doors open so not to wake anyone. And so if they hadn't caught her I would have had to buy two new battery's.

The list is subject to change since I have a lot of fantasy books. I just really want to read all the books that I have laying around the house. I haven't read the C.S. Lewis books since I was a small child. And the A Wrinkle in Time books. |

I fianlly thought of my New Year's resolution. I'm excited. But it's to graduate nursing school. I hope this year I will be able to complete it. I should. I don't see why I wouldn't be able to but still it's a really good one.
But I need two because that one is just two easy so I think my second one will be to lose weight. I always use that one. |

Someone save me from yet another Christmas dinner!! This will make dinner four in five days and tomorrow, will be dinner five in six days! Oi! I think I will become a turkey or a ham.
But today will be a good day. I'm going to my sister in laws family's. They are good to me and my daughter. They have adopted me and Emma. They all bought her presents. It was really sweet of them. They really shouldn't have, I know how tight they all are with money. But it's the thought that counts.
Emma had a really great Christmas. She's still upset that Santa didn't bring her a ballerina costume. She still doesn't know that her uncle and aunt bought her one. She'll get it tonight when we all get back to the house. I know she will be excited. It is the one thing that she really asked for from Santa besides the ipod that I refused to buy for a five year old.
I spent most of the night writing a Christmas story for my grandmother. It turned out being a spoof of a present that we collaborated to get her. She will love it though.
Okay I have to go now, or else I won't make it for the two hour drive to my sister in law's dad's house. I'm so tired of driving but at least I will have something good to listen too along the way. |

I need to do that prompt that Libby gave me for Gavin. Or work my my Christmas novella. I hate when I want to write more than one thing at a time. I never know which one I want to do first. I'm sure that I should do the prompt. I think it would be good considering that I have no clue when we are going to do our writing challenge and I want to make sure that I'm ready for it. I really want to get all the research out of the way because while I know a lot about classical music, I still need to know more about the romantic era and what was going on in that time frame. I thought about taking another music class but I just don't know when I'll have time for it. I don't even know if they will be offering one that matches the time that I want. |
